I'm an old guy, living near San Francisco. I was born in Austria and grew up in Shanghai. Long-distance running used to be my passion. Now it's digital photography and hiking. When people ask me what I like to take pictures of, my answer is "what I see". I follow world-events and am of a rather liberal stripe. To top it all off, I'm a vegetarian.I'm an extrovert and don't take life terribly seriously.

Bob and David
Using cast polychromed fiberglass, vinyl or bronze, and enhanced by real clothing, accessories and props, Hanson's sculptures capture a realism that compels the viewer to approach the figures for a closer look. The viewer is challenged to question the distinction between reality and illusion.

Thistle
Cardonnacum, derived from carduus, is the Latin for a place with thistles. This is believed to be the origin of name of the Burgundy village of Chardonnay, Saone-et-Loire, which in turn is thought to be the home of the famous Chardonnay grape variety. Which deserves another 'who'd a thought'.
