This is an archival picture I took in Mexico a few years ago.
My brilliant friend, Carolee, identified yesterday's flower as Mimosa. Who'd a thunk! The Mimosa was first introduced to the US in 1785. It is now considered a fast-growing weed by many.
And, of course, Mimosa also refers to a popular drink, consisting of champagne and orange juice, dating back to the 1920's.
And finally, Mimose, in German, refers to a hyper-sensitive person.
