What you see is not just boids. In fact, it's a rather unusual picture. On the left a Tree Swallow, on the right two Barn Swallows. Of course, it took none other than Dr. Janet Bodle to alert me to this fact. Aren't you glad I have an ornithologist on my staff?
I took the picture last Tuesday, at the Bear Valley Trail trailhead in Point Reyes.
