If you live in the San Francisco Bay Area there's a new treat in store for you. The Ellis Creek Trail System, in Petaluma, was opened to the public last July. There are four beautiful ponds, all part of the Ellis Creek Water Recycling Facility. Bird life is already abundant, and more birds are arriving. There are many, very helpful kiosks along the trail, describing the history as well as flora and fauna. Note that Ellis Creek is accessible from Shollenberger Park, which I discovered recently. You owe it to yourself to visit this area. Google will tell you more.
And by the way, Bob H and I had the good fortune of running into, and speaking with the number one docent, Bob Dyer.
