Most of the year you don't see rabbits at the Ponds. Suddenly they're all over the place. They must be multiplying like rabbits! ( forgive me for that one). They are Black-tailed Jackrabbits, usually hopping rather than walking, as evidenced by my picture. According to the guidebook, every 5th leap is higher to check for predators! They can run up to 35 mph. Now you see them, now you don't! I love the way the sun shines through their long ears!
